Deposits

Quotes are valid for 7 days from date of issue. To confirm your booking we require a 50% deposit. Payment secures your date in our books as we are at times fully booked and lack of deposit can lead to your place being given to another client. Work will only commence on your order once deposit has been made based on the agreed quote and all designs approved by the client. By paying your deposit, you agree to adhere to the following Terms and Conditions.

Failure to pay following the reminder may result in the order being cancelled and the deposit being retained as compensation for ingredients and equipment purchased. Please contact me ASAP to discuss and problems or possible late payment issues.

If for any reason you need to postpone your event, please contact me immediately. Your new date may or may not be available, but I will try to accommodate you wherever possible. If the new date of your event is available, all monies paid will be transferred to the new date without penalty.  If the new date is unavailable, please see the below cancellation policy.

Cancellations

If an order is cancelled, the deposit will be forfeited.

Refunds

Once delivery is accepted or cake/s collected, no refunds will be issued.

Changes

Any changes made to your order within 14 days of collection or delivery may incur a surcharge, depending on the change requested.  In most cases changes can be accommodated, however at times it is not possible. We will however endeavour to accommodate you to the best of our ability.

Delivery

Cakes and cupcakes are made and packaged in a box.  Clients wishing to pick up their products are responsible for the safe delivery of their product and Jamie’s Cake Decorating does not accept responsibility for any accidents that occur once the cake has been collected. Cakes transported by you or your representative are done so at your own risk.

When delivering, Jamie’s Cake Decorating is not responsible for any damage to the cake after setup is complete. Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy table, and optimal room temperature of 23˚ degrees or below. Jamie’s Cake Decorating is not responsible for any damage to the cake, or shortage of cake, caused by a guest, caterer, wait staff member, or any other person not employed by Jamie’s Cake decorating.

Design

Jamie’s Cake Decorating aims to produce products of the highest standard that fulfill the desires of our clients as we understand them. It is important to remember that we are dealing with food and art and no two products are truly ever the same. There are times when we will need to make decisions during the process of creation that may affect the style of decoration, proportion or structure of the product. Colour can be subjective and it is vital that clients wishing for exact colour matches provide colour samples and discuss the desired colour when ordering their cake. With regard to ribbon, we will do their best to match samples provided but are limited by the options available.

Serving Sizes

Serving amounts provided by standard shape cakes are based on dessert sized portions being 1″ wide x 2″  long x 4″ high per slice, or coffee sized portions being being 1″ wide x 1″ long x 4″ high per slice.  The number of actual servings created during actual service of the cake cannot be guaranteed as methods of slicing, such as serving larger or smaller than the standard slice size, or other preparations will affect the number of actual servings. Specialty carved cake serving amounts are estimated and are not guaranteed to be exact.

Storage

Buttercream covered cakes, naked cakes and cupcakes should be refrigerated in the box in which they were delivered, and removed from the fridge and brought to room temperature prior to serving. Fondant covered cakes should not be refrigerated, but stored in a cool, preferably air conditioned room, out of sunlight. Once cut, cakes should be stored in an airtight container or plastic wrap in the refrigerator. Sliced cake and cupcakes can also be stored in an airtight container and frozen for up to 3 months.

Allergens

Please discuss with us if any of your guests have special dietary requirements. Some cakes can be made free of allergens such as gluten and nuts. Please be aware that although these ingredients can be removed from the cakes, products are made in a kitchen where allergens are used and as such we cannot guarantee that any of our cakes are completely free of all traces for people who are highly sensitive.

Unless it is specified otherwise on your order, all products may contain or come into contact with dairy, wheat, nuts, soy and other allergens. It is the client’s responsibility to inform their guests of any risks.

Jamie’s Cake Decorating cannot be held liable for any allergic reactions.

Fresh Flowers

If fresh flowers are provided by an outside source, they are required to be available at the venue on the day of the function prior to the cake being delivered. Fresh flowers will not be inserted into the cake without being suitably wired and taped by a florist. If flowers are not available at the time of cake delivery, Jamie’s Cake Decorating will not be responsible for arranging on the cake. Please be advised that fresh flowers are not a food product, and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt, or other contaminants. Jamie’s Cake Decorating cannot be held liable for any reactions caused.

Photographs

All cakes are photographed prior to, or upon delivery. Jamie’s Cake Decorating reserve the right to use any photographs for display or promotion without compensation to you.

Cake Stand Hire

A deposit of $100 is charged for the hire of acrylic cupcake stands. Stands must be collected by the client after the event and returned to Jamie’s Cake Decorating. The deposit is fully refundable upon return of the stand in its original condition, up to 72 hours after the event.  The deposit will be forfeited should the stand be damaged in any way, and a fee of $20 per day will be deducted from the deposit for each day late unless prior arrangements have been made.

Acceptance of this agreement is contingent upon the ability of Jamie’s Cake Decorating to complete the agreement and is subject to accidents, Acts of God, and other causes beyond our control. In the rare instance whereby Jamie’s Cake Decorating is unable to fulfill the order, all efforts will be made to find a suitably qualified decorator. Should another decorator not be available, a full refund of any payments made will be issued.
